Varanasi vice chancellor alleges bid to poison him


A complaint by vice-chancellor of the Sampurnanand Sanskrit University (SSU) Binda Prasad Mishra that someone was trying to poison him through doctored food, has thrown the district administration into a tizzy.

After the varsity's chief proctor gave a written complaint to the Chetganj police in this connection, ADM (City) M P Singh ordered to sending of food samples for laboratory test.

Singh told on Monday that "if the laboratory reports come positive, i.e., indicating slow poisoning, an FIR would be lodged and stern action would be initiated against the guilty persons.
