Nithyananda seeks CBI probe into CID's gay sex charge sheet

Self-styled godman Nithyananda today sought a CBI probe into the additional chargesheet filed by the Criminal Investigation Department in connection with a case charging him with indulging in unnatural sex with a youth.

Speaking to reporters at his ashram in Bidadi, Nithyananda claimed the additional charge sheet was based on a sexual harassment complaint made against him by an individual based in the US.

The complainant had alleged that Nithyananda had ‘brainwashed’ him into a homosexual relationship.

Nithyananda alleged that the chargesheet had omitted the statements of 15 other witnesses who revealed details against Bharadwaj and other conspirators, including medical reports and blood examinations.

On the arrest of Lenin, his former aide, by Tamil Nadu CB-CID recently, Nithyananda said his bail petition had been dismissed and he was currently in judicial custody in Chennai’s Puzhal Prison.

A close aide of Nithyananda had filed a criminal complaint against Lenin, who blew the lid off the alleged sleaze activities involving a film actress and the godman in March 2010, accusing him of criminal intimidation and threatening to air the clippings of the video.
